I've used eggshells in my flower beds etc, for a long time. In addition to being a good source of calcium they dter slugs etc. I'm not sure about the egg itself though. I was always taught never use anything "deceased" in your compost. I don't know if eggs would qualify. With the slamonella bacteria etc. they may not be a good addition.
Could be a good source of sulfur......
