The Ranch is a small Sabal haven....
At 12 noon, PSST members arrived at the Gordon Ranch just southwest of Victoria for the February PSST meeting. The ranch is owned by PSST member Jim McHaney, however PSST Coastal Vice Chairman Will Wagner co-hosted this months meeting with Jim. As members arrived at the ranch they got a glimpse of Sabal minors in and amongst the ancient oak trees that dot the country side. This beautiful piece of Texas land portrays your typically image of a Texas ranch with it's rolling hills, huge oak trees and water areas. Jim and his family bought this ranch from a Nun monastery from San Antonio.

Members socializing and waiting on chow time...
As we waited for lunch to be finalized and served we held a quick society meeting. As usual we covered some old business issues as well as a treasury report by our treasurer John Dillard. We then talked about the up coming March meeting in Corpus Christi and the visit to the Corpus Botanical Garden. We are encouraging as many members as possible to attend this up coming meeting for we are going to evaluate what the botanical garden is actively trying to accomplish and discuss possible ways our society could help in these efforts. After the meeting we enjoyed a fabulous meal prepared by a local celebrity " Mr. Welder ". The meal was arranged by Will Wagner and the food was delicious and as usual all got their fill.

After the meal, members took off to explore the ranch and it's natural population of Sabal Minors. Below you will see a number of pictures depicting our little venture through the lower regions of Gordon Ranch.
