(Please note: Placing the cursor over a picture gives you some info on it....)

Well come high noon, members of the society gathered for lunch at 'Millers BBQ' in Corpus Christi, to kick off this months meeting. After having a tasty meal and some good conversation, we all headed over to the botanical garden to be briefed on the new master plan for the gardens. Our objective was to see if we, as a society, could collaborate on a palm garden with the botanical gardens master planners. The gardens head horticulturalist gave a very good over view of the master plan and informed us of the various gardens currently planned. One of which, is a very large palm garden. Members came away from the meeting with mixed emotions as to the extent of the project in relation to the amount of money and volunteers it would take to properly take this project on. After much discussion, it was decided that we would take a 'wait and see' position on this project, to better assess if the master plan as a whole is going to be successful (financially). Once the briefing was completed, members toured the gardens and the various plant collections. One notable collection is their orchid collection. Luckily for the members most of the plants were in bloom and were spectacular. The pictures below depict our day at the gardens, do hope you enjoy them.
