Welcome to Charlie and Lana Vieh's |

Charlie and Lana's pond on the front of the property....
Around 12 noon, PSST members started arriving at Charlie and Lana Vieh's B and B.
(Visit www.vieh.com for accommodation south
Texas style.) Many of the guest arrived with plants to be donated
to the auction to be held later in the day. As members arrived, others started viewing the gardens of this tranquil bed and breakfast.
Charlie is growing some very nice and somewhat unusual or hard to find plants.
Donations from generous members
Pics of the garden...
After members toured and viewed the gardens, all came in to enjoy a wonderful meal together.
After eating we all went out to the back patio's and had a quick society meeting going over issues
like the treasury report, the up coming Christmas party and 2004 calendars. We also took a moment to
recognize two members in attendance that had recently been through some physical challenges and have come
through them well. We are lucky to have them still amongst us.
After the meeting concluded, we started in on auctioning off all of the donated plants. Many members brought
to auction nurtured plants that they have been growing for some time. Along with them, Paul Crerar a local
nurseryman brought a number of plants from his nursery. All of these plants combined made for an excellent
auction. In addition, Jim Sommerfrucht from Bayview brought a number of banana plants and Kyle Robinson from
Edinburg brought cactus in to give away. We thank all of those that participated in bringing or buying plants.
After the auction, most members continued to tour the gardens and socialize. All in all it was another great
Saturday meeting with good people, plants and palette satisfying foods...
