Datura and Brugmansia Seeds

Also known as Angel Trumpet trees, Brugmansia and Datura were at one time classified in the same genus of plants.  They all bear the flowers shaped like angel trumpets, and one significant difference between the Brugmansia and Datura is the longevity of the plants.  Datura are short-lived and are grown as an annual in many zones.  They also tend to be smaller than Brugmansia.  Two seed kits are available below, or choose from individual packs. 

Angel Trumpet Flower Seeds

2293 Brugmansia suaveolens

This is the old world type white flowered B. suaveolens, not the pink hybrids commonly seen. Wonderfully robust plants that are covered in huge slightly fragrant blooms spring through summer.

2173 Double Purple Datura

One of our favorites, it grows 3 to 5 feet tall and requires almost no care or maintanance. The flowers are a double purple with a white center and are trumpet shaped with edges that roll back and form tendrils. The flowers are very fragrant and are strongest in evening. Blooms repeatedly in the summer time.

FA89 Evening Fragrance Datura (Datura metel)

An excellent patio plant, Evening Fragrance has huge, heavily fragrant pure white trumpet flowers, with a soft lavender picotee edge, averaging 6-8 inches long and 4-6 inches across, hanging from small tree-like plants growing 3-4 feet tall, with soft, slate-blue foliage. Should be grown in tubs, containers, on patios or close to the house where the evening perfume can be appreciated. Despite their exotic appearance they are relatively tough under windy and rainy conditions, adapting to many soil types.

This striking plant has fragrant white trumpet shaped flowers held upright above blue-green foliage. Excellent as a container plant or grown in the garden. 4-5" across flowers open at night and release a wonderful fragrance. 10 seeds $2.50

A most splendid half hardy annual growing to about 3-5 ft.in height with huge, trumpet-shaped violet flowers measuring up to 6-8 inches length and 4 inches across the mouth.  15 seeds $3.50

Z1690 "Brazilian Gold" Brugmansia/Datura

Actually, these should be named Brazilian Surprise as you never know the shade of yellow that the plant will produce. Colors range from soft, delicate yellow to deep gold tone from these plants. Each plant will produce only one color and each flower will be the same, you just never know exactly what color it will be. Vigorous, fast growing Brugmansia plants. A prolific bloomer! Z1685 "Brazilian Treasure" Rose/Pink Brugmansia

Another delightful variety from Brazil. Soft, rose/pink to red trumpet flowers on vigorous, fast growing Brugmansia plants. So loaded with flowers when in bloom, you can hardly see the plant! Package of 10 seeds $3.50

D9551 Golden Queen Frilled Double Brugmansia

A half hardy annual growing to about 3-5 ft in height. This is a lovely plant bearing large, double golden-yellow trumpet flowers. Lots of petal area. A magnificent new selection from seeds. 15 seeds $3.50

W104 Oak Leaf Datura Datura Quesrcifolia

A most interesting type of datura, from Mexico with wavy margined leaves and bearing a profusion of comparatively small, violet or lavender flowers. We love this plant as a background plant in our garden, it blooms throughout spring, summer and fall. Annual. 15 seeds $3.50

SF061 La Fleur Lilac

A new datura variety from seeds. Delicate lilac colored trumpets with sweet perfume fragrance. Excellent outside in gardens or in containers or perfect for windowsills. Grow as an annual, will reach 24 inches tall in the garden. Package of 10 seeds $2.50

W102 Red Tree Brugmansia Brugmansia sanguinea

From the Andes comes this very small shrubby tree with large pendulous flowers to 10" length. Flowers are tubular, and bright red at the mouth fading to yellow at the base. Long ovate leaves to 10". Extremely popular. For tropical greenhouse Package of 10 seeds $2.50

W106 Indian Datura (Datura innoxia Inka)

A wonderful datura, full of surprises. A bit more spreading than other daturas, loaded with flowers that can be from white, pink to light lavender, usually a light pink to white, but the color is uncertain until the plant blooms. Starts blooming at a early age and will continue to bloom until frost. Package of 10 seeds $2.50

Large trumpet-shaped double pure white blooms. Does best as a container plant. Full sun, partial shade; plant height: can reach 5 feet tall in rich soil and full sun. Loads of flowers. Package of 10 seeds $2.50
